Embothrium coccineum, also known as Chilean firetree or Chilean firebush, is a small evergreen tree that can grow up to 5m tall and 2.5m wide after 10-20 years. It is native to the temperate forests of Chile and Argentina and is known for its dramatic, slender upright form and fiery red tubular flowers that bloom in summer. On the other hand, Ixora is an evergreen flowering shrub that grows in a bushy, rounded form with glossy, dark leaves and 4-petaled red flowers in summer. It is native to southeast Asia and prefers full sun in moist, well-drained, acidic soils that are rich in organic matter.
