Guest Accounts

When you use Ploi without creating a registered account, we automatically create a temporary guest account to enable basic functionality. This guest account:

  • Does not require or store any email address or identifying information
  • Allows you to use core features like adding plants and uploading photos
  • Is stored locally on your device and on our servers to enable the service
  • Can be converted to a full account if you choose to register
  • Will be automatically deleted after 90 days of inactivity unless converted to a registered account

By continuing to use Ploi as a guest, you consent to this temporary data processing necessary to provide the service.

Log Data

When you visit our website, our servers may automatically log the standard data provided by your web browser. It may include your device’s Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on each page, other details about your visit, and technical details that occur in conjunction with any errors you may encounter.

Please be aware that while this information may not be personally identifying by itself, it may be possible to combine it with other data to personally identify individual persons.

Personal Information

We may ask for personal information which may include one or more of the following:

Photo Collection and Storage

When you use Ploi, you may upload photos of your plants. These photos are stored on our secure servers to enable you to access your plant journal across devices and to maintain a visual history of your plants' growth. We process and store different sizes of your photos to optimize performance across web and mobile applications.

  • Plant photos and care records are retained for as long as you maintain an active account
  • Guest accounts and all associated data are automatically deleted after 90 days of inactivity
  • When you delete individual photos or plants, they are permanently removed from our servers within 30 days
  • If you delete your account, all your personal data including photos, plant records, and care history will be permanently deleted within 30 days
  • Backup copies may exist for up to 90 days after deletion for disaster recovery purposes

However, if necessary, we may retain your personal information for our compliance with a legal, accounting, or reporting obligation or for archiving purposes in the public interest, scientific, or historical research purposes or statistical purposes.

Children’s Privacy

We do not aim any of our products or services directly at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information about children under 13.

International Transfers of Personal Information

The personal information we collect is stored and/or processed where we or our partners, affiliates, and third-party providers maintain facilities. Please be aware that the locations to which we store, process, or transfer your personal information may not have the same data protection laws as the country in which you initially provided the information.   • Downloading all your plant photos in their original quality
  • Exporting your plant care records and history
  • Receiving a complete copy of your account data
