Holodiscus discolor, also known as ocean spray or oceanspray, creambush, or ironwood, is a fast-growing deciduous shrub native to western North America. It typically reaches a height of 4-5 feet, but can grow up to 7 feet tall. The shrub features oval-shaped, lobed grey-green leaves that are small, juicy green when new. In midsummer, it produces luxuriant pendulous plumes of tiny creamy white flowers.
