Myosotis alpestris aka Alpine Forget Me Not

Taxonomy

Myosotis alpestris, also known as alpine forget-me-not, is a herbaceous perennial plant in the Boraginaceae family. It is native to moist mountainous areas on wooded slopes and grassy meadows, and can be found throughout the Himalaya range and in open, rocky places high in the mountains of Alaska. The plant produces fragrant sky-blue flowers that are up to 10mm across. It is the county flower of Westmorland in the UK and the state flower of Alaska. Additionally, Myosotis alpestris is distinguished by fruiting pedicels that are the same length as the calyx, and the production of black nutlets. The Asian Forget-Me-Not is a relatively rare houseplant that requires regular watering and thrives in long-lasting, direct light. It prefers soil that is good at retaining moisture and does not typically require added fertilizers if repotted each time it doubles in size.

Soil

Alpine Forget Me Not is very sensitive to dry soil. To ensure your Balts Neaizmirstultes (Lvl) is thriving and blooming, choose a potting soil that retains moisture. A good soil should still allow for adequate drainage and contain lots of organic matter. Coco coir or sphagnum moss are great soil additives that will help to retain moisture and provide your Alpine Forget Me Not with the nutrients it needs for healthy growth. Make sure to mix these soil additives into the potting soil before planting and water the soil thoroughly. By providing your Alpine Forget Me Not with a well-draining, moisture-retaining soil, you can help to maximize its growth and keep it blooming.

Lighting

To ensure optimal growth, the Alpine Forget Me Not prefers bright diffused light for 6-8 hours each day. Insufficient light can result in slow growth and leaf drop, so it's important to find a well-lit location for this plant. Place it near a window, within a distance of 1 meter (3 feet), to enhance its potential for thriving.
