Canscora is a genus of flowering plants in the family Gentianaceae, within the order Gentianales. The genus comprises between 9 and 30 species, with 16 species recognised by Plants of the World Online as of November 2022. Canscora species are distributed across the Old World tropics, with a native range spanning Africa, Asia, and Australia.

The genus is primarily composed of herbaceous plants found in tropical and subtropical regions. Canscora diffusa, one of the more widespread species, has been documented growing in riverbeds in West Africa and occurs across southern Asia to Australia. Some species in the genus are used in traditional medicine.

Notable members include Canscora diffusa, a widespread annual herb found from West Africa through tropical Asia to northern Australia, and Canscora ciathula, recorded from Vietnam. The genus shows considerable morphological diversity, reflected in the wide range of species counts estimated by different taxonomic authorities.

Distribution

Some traditional classifications placed certain Canscora species in related genera, and the genus boundaries within the Gentianaceae tribe Chironieae continue to be refined.
