Coutoubea is a small genus of flowering plants in the family Gentianaceae (the gentian family), within the order Gentianales. It was first described by the French botanist Jean Baptiste Christophe Fusée Aublet in 1775, in his Histoire des Plantes de la Guiane Françoise.

The genus is native to Mexico and Central and southern tropical America, where it occurs alongside other Gentianaceae members typical of the region's tropical lowlands. GBIF's taxonomic backbone lists eight descendant taxa under the genus, and species recognized on Wikipedia include Coutoubea humilis, Coutoubea minor, Coutoubea ramosa, Coutoubea reflexa, and Coutoubea spicata — the latter three of which are catalogued in this database.

As with other Gentianaceae, members of Coutoubea are typically herbaceous plants; detailed morphological descriptions are not covered in the available sources for this genus specifically.
