Cistus laurifolius, also known as laurel-leaf cistus, laurel-leaved cistus, or laurel-leaved rock rose, is a highly branched flowering evergreen shrub native to certain regions around the Mediterranean. This vigorous medium-sized shrub reaches a height of 2m and has an open habit. Its leaves are sticky and dull grey-green in color, with an ovate shape. The white flowers of Cistus laurifolius can grow up to 8cm in width. With stiff, erect, and open branches, this evergreen shrub can reach a height of 180-240cm. While its medicinal properties are known, traditional uses are yet to be discovered. Nonetheless, it is cultivated as an ornamental plant in gardens.
