Rebutia aka Rebutia 'Sunrise'

Rebutia is a genus of small, colorful cacti native to Bolivia and Argentina. These flowering plants belong to the family Cactaceae and are known for their globular form and relatively large flowers. They lack distinctive ribs but have regularly arranged small tubercles. Rebutia is considered easy to grow and often produces abundant seeds that germinate freely around the parent plant. The exact boundaries of the genus are uncertain, with ongoing debate about whether it includes species previously placed in Aylostera, Cintia, Sulcorebutia, and Weingartia. The number of species in Rebutia varies widely depending on the source, with many plants previously treated as species now regarded as varieties, forms, or synonyms. Rebutia is a strong-growing barrel-shaped cactus covered in white spines, with numerous "pups" that create a spreading mound. It is found in mountainous and rocky terrain in South America, particularly in Bolivia and Argentina. The genus currently includes 20-30 species, with other species formerly belonging to Rebutia now excluded. The spherical stem of Rebutia is adorned with spines and low ribs arranged in a spiral. During the flowering period, funnel-shaped flowers emerge from the lower halo, creating a beautiful display of small blooms.
