Ribes rotundifolium aka Appalachian Gooseberry

Ribes rotundifolium, or Appalachian gooseberry, is a deciduous shrub in the gooseberry family, Grossulariaceae. It comes from the eastern United States and grows in a temperate climate. Its range includes parts of New England and the Appalachian states, south to Georgia. Wild plants grow in open, rocky ground and thickets. They also reach high mountain crests.
