Thalictrum aquilegiifolium aka French Meadow Rue

Thalictrum aquilegiifolium, also known as Siberian columbine meadow-rue, columbine meadow-rue, French meadow-rue, and greater meadow-rue, is an erect herbaceous perennial plant in the buttercup family Ranunculaceae. It can reach a height of 90cm and has mid-green leaves composed of small, obovate leaflets. The plant bears large fluffy heads of small flowers in early summer, with prominent deep rose-purple stamens. Its native range extends through Europe and temperate Asia, and it has been naturalized in North America, specifically New York and Ontario. Thalictrum aquilegiifolium contains an alkaloid called thalidisine, which is also found in other Thalictrum species.
