During mid- to late summer, the plant produces flowers in spikes that can reach up to 80cm in height. These flowers display a range of pink and green shades. With a maximum height of 92cm, Epipactis helleborine has broad, dull green leaves that are strongly ribbed and flat. The flowers are arranged in long drooping racemes, characterized by dull green sepals and shorter upper petals. The lower labellum is pale red and considerably shorter than the upper petals.
