Eupatorium cannabinum aka Hemp Agrimony

Eupatorium cannabinum, also known as hemp-agrimony or holy rope, is a robust perennial herbaceous plant of the Asteraceae family. It is native to Europe, as well as NW. Africa, Turkey, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, the Caucasus, and Central Asia. While it is occasionally found as a garden escape in the United States, Canada, and China, it is primarily cultivated for ornamental purposes. With racemes of mauve flower heads that bloom from July to early September, this dioecious plant is pollinated by insects and is attractive to butterflies, much like buddleia. The flower heads are tiny, fluffy and can range from pale dusty pink to whitish. It can be invasive in forest habitats. Hemp-agrimony prefers moist low-lying areas and well-draining soil. As a rare houseplant, it requires regular watering and direct light, and should be less than 1 foot from a window. Supplementing with gentle, organic fertilizer throughout the peak growing season can be beneficial.
