Native to the Alps and Pyrenees, this species features leathery, rounded leaves and produces umbels of nodding purple to violet flowers measuring about 1.5cm in length during the early spring. In contrast, Campanula thyrsoides is a herbaceous, erect, and perennial flowering plant that can reach a height of approximately 70-100 cm (28-39 in). It showcases a striking dense inflorescence with up to 200 bell-shaped flowers in a pale yellow hue.
