Croptilon is a small genus of flowering plants in the daisy family (Asteraceae), placed in tribe Astereae and subtribe Chrysopsidinae. It was described by Constantine Samuel Rafinesque in 1836 (Flora Telluriana 2: 47). The genus is native to North America, occurring across the southeastern and south-central United States — including Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, the Carolinas, and Virginia — as well as northeastern Mexico.

Only a handful of species are recognized in Croptilon, among them Croptilon divaricatum, which ranges through the south-central and southeastern United States. The genus is closely related to Isopappus, a name now treated as a synonym of Croptilon.
