Apocynum androsaemifolium, also known as the fly-trap dogbane or spreading dogbane, is a flowering plant native to North America. It is a bushy, branching perennial that can reach a height of about 75cm or 2-5 ft. The plant features opposite, oval, mid-green leaves and produces small clusters of fragrant, pink, bell-shaped flowers with darker pink stripes on the inside. These flowers are borne near the branch tips during the summer. Following the flowering period, seed pods containing silky-haired seeds are formed. Overall, Apocynum androsaemifolium is a common and attractive plant found in North American wild areas.
