Veronica, also known as Veronika, is a compact, bushy evergreen shrub that reaches a height of around 80cm. It has glossy dark green leaves that are tinged with purple and bronze. During the summer, it produces spikes of bright purple flowers. It forms a low mound of small, serrated green leaves and showcases short spikes of starry medium-blue flowers with a tiny white eye. The flowering period starts from late spring and continues into the autumn. In warm climates, if the flowering starts to dwindle in early July, simply pruning the plants back by half will rejuvenate them.
