Angelonia aka Angelon
Taxonomy ID: 23262
Angelonia is a genus of about 30 species classified in the Plantaginaceae family, occurring from Mexico to Argentina. These herbaceous plants thrive mainly in arid and semi-arid habitats, with a significant presence in the Seasonally Dry Tropical Forest of Northeastern Brazil, specifically Caatinga. Despite their delicate appearance, growing Angelonia is relatively easy. Known as summer snapdragons, these vigorous, branching tender perennials produce an abundance of upright stems adorned with fragrant white flowers from late spring until the first frosts, and even into fall in warm climates. Their flowers are highly specialized for pollination, with inner corolla hairs that produce oils collected by oil bee pollinators, particularly of the genus Centris. While Angelonia has no known toxicity to pets or people, it is not meant for consumption as large amounts may cause side effects.

How difficult is it to take care of Angelon
Angelon presents a moderate level of care, which allows plant enthusiasts with some experience to expand their skills and knowledge.
What is the sunlight requirement for Angelon
Angelon thrives in bright and direct sunlight. To ensure your plant receives enough light to survive, place it less than one foot from a window. The current weather in your area may affect the placement in your home. For example, if you live in a region that has longer and more intense periods of sunlight, then you may want to place the plant farther away from the window to avoid direct sunlight and reduce the risk of sunburn. Alternatively, if you live in a region with relatively milder temperatures and less intense sunlight, then you may be able to place the plant closer to the window for increased exposure. Ultimately, the current weather in your area should be taken into consideration when determining the best placement for your Angelon.
