Fatshedera aka Fatshedera Hybrid

Fatshedera is a unique hybrid genus of flowering plants, commonly known as tree ivy or aralia ivy, with only one species, × Fatshedera lizei. The hybrid symbol × in front of the name indicates that this is an inter-generic hybrid, resulting from a cross between plants from different genera. Fatshedera lizei was created in 1912 by crossing Fatsia japonica 'Moserii' and Hedera helix at the Lizé Frères tree nursery in Nantes, France. The plant's name is a combination of the parent genera's names. As a patio plant, the Tree Ivy easily grows both indoors and outdoors. It is a super rare houseplant that needs regular watering to thrive and prefers abundant sunlight. It should be placed less than 3 feet from a window and grown in well-draining soil. Repotting the plant every time it doubles in size eliminates the need for added fertilizers.
